How do you build a money-making routine?

Use a reachable job as your regular income, add eligible side gigs between shifts, and reserve money for recurring costs. Choose a routine your Sim can sustain rather than chasing the largest reward on the screen.

  1. Check your starting situation

Nepo and LAPO start with different resources. The LAPO loan is money you owe, so reserve enough for repayments instead of treating the full balance as profit.

  2. Pick work you can reach and qualify for

Open Phone → Jobs, check the city and any skill gate, then choose a career that fits your current Sim. Trading starts at ₦8,300 per full base shift; Tech starts at ₦9,900. Compare all routes in the jobs and salaries guide.

  3. Finish shifts before adding extra work

A completed shift is more useful than repeatedly abandoning work. Keep needs under control and read the summary to see pay, tax and performance. If work is unavailable, follow the work checklist.

  4. Use side gigs between work and recovery

Start with actions that have clear costs and rewards. Check the action’s location, skill requirement and cooldown. Leave room for food, sleep and travel rather than continuously queuing earning actions.

  5. Keep a weekly buffer

Set aside upcoming rent, LAPO repayments if applicable, and routine expenses before buying furniture or vehicles. Compare net income after costs rather than the largest displayed reward.

Four steps: protect starting cash, find work, complete actions, and review net income

What is the difference between Nepo Baby and LAPO Baby?

Nepo is a funded start with housing, a car and a job. LAPO starts with borrowed cash and a skill-learning advantage. The key budget difference is that LAPO includes debt that must be repaid. The birth-lottery screen assigns an origin once to your account; it is not a freely selectable route. Logged-in observation [source]

NEPO BABY

₦500,000 pocket money

The origin includes a furnished Lekki flat, a car and a Branch Manager job. The public implementation records prepaid rent for the year; car fuel still costs money. It is an easier financial starting position, not a repeatable cash reward.

LAPO BABY

₦60,000 loan · ₦72,000 owed

Repay ₦12,000 each week. LAPO starts with Hustle at least level 2 and a 25% skill-learning bonus. Use the starting cash to establish a routine and plan repayments; it is borrowed money.

These are origin presets, not guaranteed wallet balances after choosing a home. Our LAPO session offered a Yaba start at ₦96,000 and ₦6,000 weekly rent; it then received a one-time ₦1,000,000 team gift that day. The gift is excluded from earnings comparisons and should not be expected on every new account. Student starts follow a separate setup. Which side gigs can you use to earn naira?

Help at the Buka and Carry Load have fixed base rewards. Freelance Gig requires Coding 2 and scales with whole-number Coding level. Buy & Resell Goods has an upfront cost and a variable reward, so its displayed reward is not guaranteed profit.

These values come from the public action definitions. Durations and cooldowns are in-game minutes, not real-world minutes. Listed rewards are before any applicable tax and other spending.

What do the rewards leave out?

Travel, food, recovery and applicable tax are separate from the action’s base reward. “No cash cost in the action definition” does not mean the whole routine is free. Help at the Buka uses hygiene and fun; Carry Load uses energy and hygiene, so plan recovery time.

How much does Freelance Gig pay at Coding 2?

The base formula gives ₦4,300 at Coding 2: ₦1,500 + ₦1,400 × 2, before applicable tax. Use an object offering the action and check its current availability.

Is resale income guaranteed?

No fixed profit is guaranteed. Buy & Resell Goods uses Hustle and a random component to calculate its reward. Subtract the ₦800 action cost, tax and other expenses before comparing it with a fixed-reward gig.

Why can’t I repeat a gig immediately?

The current engine applies a per-action cooldown after earning actions: generally 20 in-game minutes for rewards below ₦25,000 and 45 minutes for larger rewards. Special activities, including startup pitches and hackathons, use their own next-day reset. Follow the actual “Back in…” message rather than expecting every activity to share one timer.

Why is your take-home pay different from the listed salary?

The salary list shows base pay for a shift. Your deposit can change with completion, bonuses and tax; your remaining balance also reflects separate expenses. Compare money left after costs, not just gross rewards.

  • Completion: leaving a shift early can reduce pay; very little progress can pay nothing.
  • Bonuses: a wage policy, successful work quests and degree bonuses can change the gross amount.
  • Tax: the engine tracks weekly earnings and subtracts applicable tax. Check the Bank app and work summary.
  • Expenses: rent, repayments, travel, food, fuel and purchases reduce your balance separately.

The career cards show base pay per shift, not a guaranteed bank deposit or daily profit. No single career is proven to be “fastest” for every starting city, skill level and budget.

What did one real partial shift pay?

In our October 5 session, Trading listed ₦8,300 base pay per shift. We handled one successful task and left early; the actual summary awarded ₦2,100 and increased performance by 6 to 56%. Bank showed ₦2,100 earned that day and ₦0 tax. This is an observed partial shift, not a full-shift result or a promised earning rate.

Does Lagos Life pay real money?

What else should you check before changing your routine?

Should you switch careers for a higher salary?

Compare the entry requirement, work city, workdays and your current skill first. A higher base salary can be less useful if you cannot qualify, reach the city or sustain the routine. The public data alone does not prove one route is fastest for every player.

When should you buy upgrades?

Set aside upcoming bills and repayments first. Buy an upgrade when it supports your routine and leaves enough for food, travel and recovery, rather than spending the entire balance.
